60 years of children's carnival – imagination brought to life at our ballet school

For over 60 years, our ballet school has been a place not only for dancing, but also for transformation, laughter, wonder and dreams.

When the children's carnival begins, there is a very special magic in the air.

Dancers become little fairies, princesses, clowns, pirates, animals and fantasy creatures.

The music plays, balloons float through the room and the ballet studio becomes a stage for imagination.

In the early years, the costumes were little works of art made with love and patience.

They were sewn, crafted and altered by hand and passed on from one child to the next. Scraps of fabric became skirts, cardboard became crowns, crepe paper became wings.

Each costume was unique and bore the signature of the families who were part of our ballet community.

Some costumes told stories of many childhood years.

They were sewn to be larger, passed on, redecorated and adapted to the respective year or decade.

Some costumes danced through generations, just like our students.

Today, costumes are often rich in detail, colourful and deceptively real.

With sparkling fabrics, magnificent materials and loving details that make little eyes even bigger and children's dreams even more colourful.

They bring fairy-tale characters to life and give every child the feeling of being someone completely different for a day.

But whether hand-sewn in the past or magically perfect today, the magic of dressing up has remained the same.

It is the sparkle in their eyes, the laughter while dancing, the joy of being able to move freely and slip into another role.

For us, the children's carnival is more than just a celebration.

It is a memory, a community and a living tradition.

A place where imagination can grow

and where childhood learns to dance.

60 years of children's carnival.

60 years of creativity.

60 years of children's eyes shining.

And in the future, too, we will say:

Music on ... Costumes ready ... and let's dance! 🎶🩰🎭

Warm regards,

yours, Jasmin
