Hello dear ballet lovers,

welcome to the third special newsletter of our anniversary countdown.

This month's number is 12.

Why 12?

For the first time in the history of our ballet school, we have an official ballet calendar.

At first glance, there are ‘only’ twelve pictures.

But if you take a closer look, you will see that this calendar is more than just a collection of beautiful images. It tells a story that preserves a piece of our history.

Behind each picture lies a moment, an idea, a feeling, a person, a story and also a piece of development.

Just as a year unfolds month by month, this calendar was also created step by step.

Initial thoughts became concepts, sketches became movements, moments became pictures.

Something special grew out of the excellent collaboration with Simon Steiner.

Fun, focused, loving, professional and always goal-oriented, these photographs were created from the initial exchange to the implementation to the finished print.

Each image tells its own story, just like the ballet school and ultimately us humans.

We all started small and grew through discipline, joy, encounters, trust, people and unforgettable moments.

Just as a year unfolds over twelve months, so too did the ballet school, our calendar and ultimately ourselves.

This calendar is a reflection of what has accompanied us for almost 60 years:

an impetus, small steps, first movements, further development, new paths, big projects and the deep conviction that small steps can lead to great choreographies.

My mother and I are very happy, to be able to accompany so many children from their first small steps to great solo successes.

After 60 years, we are still part of the lives of many people.

We have been and continue to be allowed to walk with them through part of their lives, shape them and give them something for the future.

Just as a year develops, so do people and the ballet school, and I am glad, proud, grateful and happy that the Oremek-Reeves Ballet School is still in full bloom.

Like the 623 steps to our very first ballet lesson and our 1,054 tutus, the number 12 tells our story: ‘Tradition dances with the future’, and tradition and future are visible in every calendar page.

Warm regards,

yours, Jasmin
